A quick, reliable weeknight dinner featuring moist salmon fillets baked with lemon, garlic, and butter on a single sheet pan for easy cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (center-cut, 6–8 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lemons (1 juiced, 1 sliced into rounds)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a 13×18 inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease with olive oil.
  3. Rinse salmon fillets and pat completely dry with paper towels. Place on the prepared pan, ensuring space between fillets.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in minced garlic, lemon juice, dried dill, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper until emulsified.
  5. Brush half of the butter mixture over the top of each salmon fillet and sprinkle with extra black pepper.
  6. Place 2-3 lemon slices on top of each fillet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until fish is opaque and flakes easily.
  8. Remove from oven and brush with the remaining butter mixture.
  9. Let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure salmon is patted very dry to prevent steaming. Do not crowd the pan. Add garlic halfway through or after baking to prevent burning at high heat. Internal temperature should reach 145°F, though 135°F is preferred for moisture.
