A visually striking, easy-to-make Halloween punch featuring a deep black tea base swirled with bright orange citrus flavors. This 4-ingredient drink is perfect for parties, requiring minimal prep time while delivering a festive and delicious taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 4–6 black tea bags (strong brew)
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice
  • Orange soda (e.g., Sunkist)
  • Lemon-lime soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange or lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Black food coloring (optional, for deeper black color)

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water and steep 4-6 black tea bags for 5-7 minutes to create a strong brew.
  2. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature (chill in fridge or add ice to speed up).
  3. Juice oranges to yield 2 cups of fresh juice, or measure out bottled juice.
  4. In a large punch bowl or pitcher, combine the cooled black tea and orange juice.
  5. Just before serving, pour in the orange soda and lemon-lime soda to create a swirling marbled effect.
  6. Stir very gently to combine without losing carbonation.
  7. Add ice cubes and garnish with thin slices of orange or lemon.
  8. Serve immediately in clear glasses to showcase the colors.

Notes

Do not mix the soda in too early as it will go flat; add it right before serving. Ensure the tea is strong enough to appear black, not gray. For a non-alcoholic version, skip the soda and use sparkling water with simple syrup. For an alcoholic kick, add dark rum or black vodka. The tea and juice base can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
