A bright and bubbly punch combining fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and sparkling water for a refreshing summer drink perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • Β½ cup granulated sugar (can substitute honey or agave syrup)
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 45 lemons)
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 4 cups sparkling water, chilled (e.g., Perrier or SodaStream)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place hulled and sliced strawberries in a large mixing bowl or pitcher. Sprinkle granulated sugar over them and gently toss to coat. Let sit for about 10 minutes to macerate and release juices.
  2. While strawberries macerate, juice lemons until you have about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Strain out seeds.
  3. Add fresh lemon juice and cold water to the strawberry syrup in the bowl. Stir gently to combine and adjust sweetness or tartness if needed.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Just before serving, slowly pour in 4 cups of chilled sparkling water. Stir gently to mix without losing fizz.
  6. Add ice cubes to keep the punch cold.
  7. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a seedless punch, strain the macerated strawberry mixture before adding lemon juice and water. Stir gently after adding sparkling water to preserve fizz. Fresh lemon juice is preferred over bottled for best flavor. Frozen strawberries can be used if thawed slightly. Adjust sugar to taste or use substitutes for a low-sugar version. Add spirits like vodka, gin, or rum for an adult version.
