A bright and bubbly elderflower champagne punch with frozen strawberries and fresh mint, perfect for effortless summer gatherings and backyard parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz (180 ml) elderflower cordial
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) champagne or sparkling wine (brut or extra dry preferred)
  • 1 cup (150 grams) frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup (about 10 leaves) fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sparkling water or club soda (optional)
  • Ice cubes (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Chill elderflower cordial, champagne, and sparkling water (if using) in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  2. Gently muddle the fresh mint leaves in a large punch bowl or pitcher using the back of a spoon or muddler to release aroma without bitterness.
  3. Add elderflower cordial and fresh lemon juice to the muddled mint and stir gently to combine.
  4. Add frozen strawberries directly into the punch bowl to chill and infuse flavor.
  5. Slowly pour champagne or sparkling wine over the back of a spoon into the punch bowl to preserve bubbles, then stir lightly.
  6. Optionally, top up with sparkling water or club soda and stir gently.
  7. Taste and adjust by adding more lemon juice for brightness or a teaspoon of honey/simple syrup for sweetness if needed.
  8. Serve immediately in glasses garnished with a sprig of mint and a few frozen strawberries.
  9. Optional: Add regular ice cubes if you prefer the punch colder, but be aware it may dilute flavors.

Notes

Keep all ingredients chilled before mixing to preserve bubbles and freshness. Muddle mint gently to avoid bitterness. Pour champagne slowly over a spoon to maintain fizz. Frozen strawberries act as natural ice cubes that chill without diluting. Adjust sweetness and brightness to taste. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute champagne with sparkling white grape juice or sparkling water.
