A quick and delicious one-pan meal featuring tender salmon and crisp-tender asparagus coated in a sticky-sweet honey garlic glaze. Ready in under 25 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights and impresses every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin-on or skinless)
  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound, tough ends trimmed)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium works great)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh squeezed)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro (chopped, for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Rinse the asparagus and snap off the woody ends. Pat dry, then spread on one side of the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat. Spread in an even layer.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the other side of the baking sheet, skin-side down if they have skin. Drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Spoon about half of the glaze over the salmon fillets, reserving the rest for later. Use a brush or the back of a spoon to spread it evenly.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon. The salmon should flake easily with a fork when done.
  7. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, dot the salmon with small pieces of butter. Remove from the oven and drizzle the remaining glaze over the top.
  8. Let the salmon rest on the pan for 2-3 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley, a squeeze of lemon, and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry for a better crust. Don’t overcrowd the pan. Start checking doneness at 10 minutes for thin fillets. Line the pan for easy cleanup. For extra sauce, double the glaze ingredients.
