A fuss-free, crowd-pleasing peach cobbler dump cake that comes together in under 10 minutes, perfect for beginners and busy schedules. This recipe delivers a golden, crispy crust with juicy peaches and buttery cake topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (29 oz / 822 g) sliced peaches in syrup, drained lightly with some syrup reserved
  • 1 box (15.25 oz / 432 g) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain canned peaches. Pour the peaches and 2-3 tablespoons of syrup into a 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches without stirring.
  4. Mix cinnamon and nutmeg (if using) with the melted butter. Drizzle this mixture evenly over the cake mix layer.
  5. Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and edges are bubbling. If browning too fast, loosely cover with foil halfway through baking.
  6. Remove from oven and let rest for 10-15 minutes to thicken juices.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Do not stir after adding the cake mix to allow the dry mix to absorb peach juices during baking. Use melted butter for a crisp, golden crust. Watch baking time closely as ovens vary. Resting the cake before serving helps thicken juices and makes serving neater. For gluten-free, substitute cake mix with gluten-free mix. For dairy-free, substitute butter with coconut oil or vegan butter.
