A quick and easy no-bake layered dessert featuring red strawberries, white vanilla pudding and whipped cream, and blue blueberries. Perfect for patriotic celebrations and ready in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced (for the red layer)
  • Blueberries, washed and drained (for the blue layer)
  • Vanilla pudding mix (instant; creates the creamy white layer)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) milk – whole or 2% works best for creaminess
  • About 1 cup (240 ml) whipped topping – store-bought or homemade
  • Graham crackers or vanilla wafer cookies, crushed (for crunch)
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract to boost pudding flavor
  • Optional: 1-2 tbsp powdered sugar for extra sweetness in whipped topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and 2 cups (480 ml) of cold milk. Mix vigorously for about 2 minutes until thickened. Let it sit for 5 minutes to set properly.
  2. Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, beat the whipped topping or heavy cream until fluffy peaks form. If using store-bought topping, give it a quick stir to soften.
  3. Prepare berries: Wash the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly. Hull and slice the strawberries into thin pieces for easier layering.
  4. Crush the cookies: Place graham crackers or vanilla wafers in a sealed plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin or heavy pan until you get coarse crumbs.
  5. Start layering: Begin with a generous spoonful of crushed cookies at the bottom of your bowl or glasses. Press down lightly to create a base.
  6. Layer the strawberries: Spread a layer of sliced strawberries evenly over the cookie crumbs.
  7. Add pudding layer: Spoon half of the vanilla pudding mixture on top of the strawberries, spreading gently.
  8. Layer whipped cream: Add a layer of whipped topping over the pudding.
  9. Add the blueberries: Sprinkle a layer of blueberries over the whipped cream.
  10. Repeat layers: For taller glasses or bowls, repeat pudding and whipped cream layers, finishing with a few berries on top for decoration.
  11. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the layers to firm up slightly.

Notes

Use cold milk to help pudding set faster and thicker. Whip cream to soft peaks to avoid buttery texture. Drain excess liquid from berries to prevent sogginess. Chill at least 30 minutes for best texture and flavor melding. Can substitute gluten-free cookies or dairy-free pudding and toppings for dietary needs. Clear glassware enhances presentation.
