These easy crockpot grape jelly meatballs are the ultimate game day appetizer. Made with just three ingredients—frozen meatballs, grape jelly, and chili sauce—they’re sweet, tangy, and incredibly addictive.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds frozen fully cooked meatballs (homestyle or Italian-style)
  • 1 ½ cups (18-ounce jar) grape jelly (Concord grape jelly recommended)
  • 1 ½ cups (12-ounce bottle) chili sauce (Heinz Chili Sauce recommended)
  • Fresh chopped parsley or sliced green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the frozen meatballs to the slow cooker. No need to thaw them first.
  2. Spoon the entire jar of grape jelly over the meatballs.
  3. Pour the entire bottle of chili sauce over the meatballs and jelly.
  4. Stir everything together until the meatballs are evenly coated. The jelly won’t be fully melted yet, and that’s fine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or on high for 1 ½ to 2 hours.
  6. Stir gently halfway through the cooking time to redistribute the sauce.
  7. Check for doneness: meatballs are ready when heated through and the sauce is thick, glossy, and coats each meatball nicely. If the sauce seems too thin, leave the lid slightly cracked for the last 30 minutes.
  8. Switch the slow cooker to the warm setting to keep the meatballs perfect for serving over several hours.
  9. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley or sliced green onions if desired, and serve with toothpicks.

Notes

Use full-sugar grape jelly for the best texture; sugar-free versions may cause the sauce to separate. Stir halfway through cooking for even coating. If the sauce is too thin, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir in; cook for another 15 minutes. These meatballs taste even better the next day. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
