Cute Halloween Fruit Ghosts: Easy 5-Min Snack

Halloween fruit ghosts - featured image

A fun, healthy, and spooky Halloween snack made by dipping bananas in thick Greek yogurt and decorating them with blueberries and chocolate chips to look like ghosts.

Ingredients

  • Bananas (ripe but firm, peeled)
  • Plain unsweetened Greek yogurt
  • Honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Vanilla extract (optional)
  • Fresh blueberries (for eyes)
  • Mini chocolate chips (for mouth/details)
  • Lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or plastic wrap.
  2. Peel the bananas completely. Cut in half crosswise if desired for smaller ghosts.
  3. In a small bowl, stir the Greek yogurt. Mix in honey or vanilla if using until smooth.
  4. Hold a banana by the stem end and dip it into the yogurt, swirling to coat evenly.
  5. Let excess yogurt drip off, then place the dipped banana on the lined baking sheet.
  6. Refrigerate the dipped bananas for 5-10 minutes to set the yogurt coating.
  7. Remove from fridge and place two blueberries on the upper part of the banana for eyes.
  8. Arrange three mini chocolate chips in a ‘W’ or smile shape below the eyes for the mouth.
  9. Return to the refrigerator for another 5 minutes to set the decorations.
  10. Transfer to a serving platter and serve chilled.

Notes

Bananas oxidize quickly, so prep stations should be ready before peeling. Use thick Greek yogurt to ensure the coating sticks. If prepping ahead, brush peeled bananas with lemon juice to prevent browning. Do not freeze as the texture will become watery.
