A nostalgic, easy-to-make Halloween treat featuring air-popped popcorn coated in high-quality white chocolate and mixed with classic candy corn. This simple recipe delivers a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crunchy textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8–10 cups plain air-popped popcorn
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) high-quality white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup (100 grams) candy corn
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Pinch of sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare popcorn by spreading 8-10 cups of plain, air-popped popcorn on a baking sheet and removing any unpopped kernels or broken pieces.
  2. Chop white chocolate bars into small, even pieces if using bars instead of chips or melts.
  3. Place chopped white chocolate and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, stir well, then continue in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and glossy (about 1-2 minutes total).
  4. Add the popcorn and candy corn to the melted chocolate. Gently fold everything together with a silicone spatula until the popcorn is evenly coated.
  5. Line a 13×9 inch baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the mixture onto the sheet and spread it into an even layer about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top if desired.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely hard.
  8. Remove from the fridge and break into irregular pieces by hand or score with a knife to snap.

Notes

Use high-quality white chocolate bars for the smoothest melt and best flavor. Ensure popcorn is completely dry to prevent the chocolate from seizing. If the chocolate is too thick when mixing, add a teaspoon of coconut oil or extra butter. For best texture, chill until fully set before breaking.
