  • 6 medium fresh jalapeño peppers, halved lengthwise, seeds removed
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 12 thin-cut bacon strips
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Wearing gloves, slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and membranes. Pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half generously with the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Cut bacon strips in half if needed. Wrap each filled jalapeño half with a bacon slice, tucking the ends underneath to secure. Use toothpicks if necessary.
  6. Place the bacon-wrapped poppers seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bacon is crispy. Optionally broil for 2 minutes for extra crispness, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Drizzle honey evenly over the warm poppers.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy.
